Cohort chart visualizes a group of subjects or users who share a common characteristic over time
With cohort chart users can easily understand how the groups of subjects vary in terms of behavior, retention, churn, and more – so you can drive them to the optimal actions. Use them in insights to get a breakdown of activity compared to all users and other cohorts or hop over to Retention to see how long a cohort stays engaged. Compare that retention with users not in the cohort. Or compare the retention for multiple cohorts.
By using this type of chart, you can observe how a cohort behaves across time and make a comparison to other cohorts. Cohorts can be used in many spheres, like ecology, econometrics, medicine, psychology, and so forth to perform a cross-section (by comparing differences across users or subjects) at intervals through time.
